Sensex Down Amid Heightened Sell-offs in Frontline Bluechip Stocks; Several Stocks Fall More Than 5%

Indian benchmark indices reported losses in today's trading session as several stocks plunged in excess of 5%. Sensex was down by 201.72 points at 72996.38, while Nifty tumbled down by 53.96 points at 22070.75.

On the BSE, shares of B C Power Controls, Prospect Commodities and Sikozy Realtors were down by 20%, 19.56% and 18.88% respectively. Additionally, B C Power Controls, Shree Karthik, Lancor Holdings, KIFS Financial and PMC Fincorp hit their fresh 52-week lows. On the other hand, Pithampur Poly, Reliance Naval & Engg, Bio Green Paper, Dhanlaxmi Cotex and Sobhagya Mercantile clocked their 52-week highs.

Close to 24 stocks traded in green, while 26 stocks traded in red.
